Dubai Metro continues to create career opportunities across station operations, passenger services, customer support, engineering, maintenance, safety, administration, and technical departments. Current and recent vacancies include positions for Station Staff, Customer Service Agents, Station Masters, Station Supervisors, Rail Technicians, Electrical Technicians, Mechanical Technicians, Operations Controllers, Safety Officers, Facilities Staff, and Administrative Employees.

Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram operations are managed by Keolis-MHI under the Roads and Transport Authority’s transport network. Keolis-MHI reports a workforce of approximately 1,700 employees supporting around 90 kilometres of driverless metro lines and 11 kilometres of tram services.

Recruitment does not take place through one universal “Dubai Metro staff” application. Vacancies may be advertised through Keolis-MHI, the RTA section of Dubai Careers, specialist contractors, or companies supplying facilities, security, cleaning, and technical services to the transport network. Applicants should therefore confirm the legal employer named in each vacancy.

Depending on the employer, contract, and position, selected candidates may receive a monthly salary, shift allowances, overtime, medical insurance, paid annual leave, transportation, housing support, professional training, and employer-sponsored UAE work visas. Benefits vary significantly and should always be confirmed in the written offer.

Why Dubai Metro Careers Remain Popular

Stable Public-Transport Industry

Dubai relies heavily on its metro and tram system for daily passenger movement, making operations, maintenance, customer service, and station support essential functions.

Professional Working Environment

Metro employees work within structured procedures involving safety, customer service, incident reporting, operational performance, and staff training.

Opportunities Across Different Skill Levels

The network requires employees ranging from customer-service representatives and station staff to engineers, technicians, supervisors, safety specialists, and managers.

International Experience

Employees may work with colleagues and passengers from many nationalities, gaining experience in a multicultural transport environment.

Career Development

Operational staff may progress into station control and supervision, while technical employees can advance into specialist, engineering, and maintenance-management roles.

Network Expansion and Modernisation

Dubai continues investing in rail infrastructure, maintenance, and expansion. The Dubai Metro Blue Line project includes approximately 30 kilometres of track and 14 stations, supporting longer-term demand for engineering, construction, systems, and operational expertise.

What to Expect from Dubai Metro Staff Jobs

Daily duties vary significantly by department.

Employees may be responsible for:

Assisting passengers
Providing route and fare information
Managing station entrances and platforms
Supporting crowd control
Responding to customer enquiries
Reporting operational problems
Monitoring station cleanliness
Following emergency procedures
Inspecting equipment
Supporting train and station maintenance
Completing shift reports
Coordinating with control-room teams
Following safety and security procedures
Supporting passengers with reduced mobility
Maintaining professional service standards

Station-based employees usually have direct passenger contact, while technical teams work in depots, equipment rooms, tunnels, stations, workshops, or operational facilities.

Popular Dubai Metro Job Roles

Station Staff

Station staff support daily station operations and passenger movement.

Typical duties may include:

Guiding passengers
Providing journey information
Monitoring station areas
Supporting crowd management
Reporting faults
Assisting during disruptions
Following safety procedures
Supporting passengers with special needs

Customer Service Agent

Customer service employees answer enquiries, explain routes and fares, manage passenger concerns, and support service recovery during delays or disruptions.

Strong English communication and calm behaviour are important for this role.

Station Master

A station master may oversee station activities, staff deployment, passenger service, safety checks, incident reporting, and coordination with operational control teams.

This position generally requires previous rail, transport, aviation, hospitality, or operations experience.

Station Supervisor

Station supervisors lead customer-facing teams and help maintain safe, reliable, and professional station operations.

A July 2026 Keolis-MHI Group Station Supervisor vacancy focused on leading station teams, supporting station masters, and maintaining customer-service standards.

Operations Controller

Operations controllers monitor rail services, coordinate responses to operational issues, communicate with station and maintenance teams, and help manage service disruptions.

These roles normally require strong decision-making, communication, and transport-operations experience.

Train Operator or Rail Operator

Dubai Metro is driverless, so candidates should be cautious about generic advertisements claiming large-scale “metro driver” recruitment. Rail-operations roles may instead involve tram driving, control-room work, testing, depot operations, or specialist operational duties.

Applicants should verify the exact title and employer rather than assuming every train-related role involves conventional driving.

Rail Maintenance Technician

Rail technicians inspect, maintain, and repair metro infrastructure and equipment.

Work may involve:

Preventive maintenance
Fault diagnosis
Component replacement
Technical inspections
Maintenance records
Emergency repairs
Safety isolation procedures

Electrical Technician

Electrical technicians may maintain:

Safety employees support:

Risk assessments
Incident investigations
Safety inspections
Compliance monitoring
Emergency exercises
Staff training

Duties can include:

Cleaning platforms and concourses
Maintaining washrooms
Collecting waste
Operating cleaning machines
Replenishing supplies
Reporting hazards
Following station safety rules

Administrative and Support Staff

Corporate functions may include:

Human resources
Finance
Procurement

Salary Expectations

Dubai Metro-related salaries vary greatly because employees may be hired by the operating company, RTA, or external contractors. The job title, employer, qualifications, shift system, and level of responsibility all affect compensation.

Public salary claims for metro jobs are often inconsistent. Applicants should treat any salary table as an indicative planning guide rather than a guaranteed offer.

Position	Indicative Monthly Salary
Station Cleaner or Support Helper	AED 1,800–3,000
Customer Service or Station Assistant	AED 3,000–5,500
Station Staff or Passenger Service Agent	AED 3,500–6,500
Rail or Facilities Technician	AED 4,500–8,500
Station Master or Operations Supervisor	AED 7,000–14,000+
Engineer or Technical Specialist	AED 8,000–18,000+
Senior Manager or Specialist	Employer and grade dependent

These figures are broad estimates. Direct RTA roles, Keolis-MHI positions, and contractor jobs may follow very different salary structures.

Understanding the Complete Salary Package

Applicants should compare the full package rather than basic salary alone.

Package Component	What to Confirm
Basic Salary	Guaranteed monthly payment
Shift Allowance	Extra payment for rotating or night duties
Overtime	Rate and approval requirements
Accommodation	Company housing or monthly allowance

Medical Insurance	Employer-provided coverage

Employer-sponsored UAE employment visa
Tax-free employment income
Medical insurance

Housing or accommodation support
