Overtime Opportunities
Project deadlines and fabrication schedules can create additional overtime, although the rate and availability depend on the employment contract.
Practical Skills Matter
Employers often give significant importance to trade-test performance, weld quality, blueprint reading, and safety knowledge.
International Experience
Working in Dubai can expose welders to international procedures, multicultural teams, modern equipment, and large industrial projects.
Career Progression
Experienced welders can move into inspection, quality control, fabrication supervision, workshop leadership, and welding-engineering support roles.
What to Expect from Welder Jobs in Dubai
Welders join, repair, and fabricate metal components according to drawings, measurements, welding procedures, and project specifications.
Depending on the role, daily work may include:
- Preparing metal surfaces before welding
- Measuring and marking fabrication materials
- Reading engineering and fabrication drawings
- Selecting the correct welding method
- Setting welding-machine parameters
- Performing MIG, TIG, ARC or flux-cored welding
- Welding pipes, frames, structures, tanks or machinery
- Grinding and finishing completed welds
- Checking weld appearance and dimensions
- Repairing damaged metal components
- Maintaining welding machines and tools
- Following hot-work and fire-safety procedures
Specialist manufacturing vacancies may also involve brazing, hardfacing, oxy-acetylene work, manual grinding, and inspection using measuring instruments.
Popular Welding Job Roles
MIG Welder
MIG welders work on mild steel, structural components, vehicle bodies, machinery, and general fabrication projects.
Typical duties include:
- Setting wire speed and voltage
- Welding frames and fabricated components
- Checking joints and measurements
- Grinding completed welds
- Correcting visible defects
TIG Welder
TIG welders normally perform precision work on stainless steel, aluminium, thin materials, pipes, and high-quality fabricated products.
This role requires excellent hand control, clean finishing, and careful heat management.
ARC Welder
ARC welders commonly work on construction projects, structural steel, machinery repairs, and general industrial fabrication.
The work may be performed in workshops or on outdoor project sites.
Pipe Welder
Pipe welders join piping used in industrial, mechanical, energy, fire-protection, and process systems.
Employers may require practical experience with different pipe positions, materials, joint types, and approved welding procedures.
Structural Welder
Structural welders fabricate and install steel beams, frames, supports, columns, platforms, and other construction components.
The role may involve working at heights and following detailed structural drawings.
Stainless-Steel Welder
Stainless-steel welders work on kitchens, tanks, railings, architectural products, food-service equipment, and industrial components.
A clean finish and control of distortion are particularly important.
Aluminium Welder
Aluminium welders may work in marine, automotive, architectural, signage, and specialist fabrication environments.
This role generally requires previous experience because aluminium responds differently from steel during welding.
Hardfacing and Brazing Welder
These specialised welders repair or manufacture components by applying wear-resistant materials, brazing joints, and completing detailed finishing work.
Recent Dubai recruitment has included welding vacancies involving TIG, MIG, ARC, hardfacing, brazing, and grinding.
Welding Inspector
Welding inspectors check materials, procedures, dimensions, welder qualifications, visual quality, and inspection records.
These positions usually require recognised certifications and significant industry experience.
Salary Expectations
Welder pay in Dubai varies by welding process, certification, employer, project, and overtime.
Current salary data shows that ordinary TIG and MIG/TIG welding roles may offer comparatively modest base salaries. Indeed reported an average base salary of approximately AED 2,888 per month for MIG and TIG welders in Dubai as of March 2026, while its TIG-welder data showed an average close to AED 2,167 per month in July 2026. Specialist, certified, supervisory, offshore-support, or oil and gas roles may pay more.
